Civil Engineering
About Department
The department offers a three year diploma course that consists of core civil engineering subjects such a Structural Design and Engineering, Surveying, Estimation and Cost valuation, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Construction materials & Engineering and Building Planning and Drawing. Apart from these regular subjects, students are also trained to operate Total Station and work with software’s involving Computer Aided Drafting, Structural Analysis and Design, Estimation, Project Planning and Implementation and GIS. The Laboratories in the Department are well equipped to enable practical learning with better understanding and to ensure the optimal consolidation of their knowledge.

- 2. To provide Knowledge base and consultancy services to the community in all areas of Civil Engineering with advanced Laboratories.
- 3. To promote innovative & original thinking among the students to face the future challenges.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)
- PEO1 : To achieve excellence with a wide range of engineering fundamentals to innovate, design and develop products related to civil engineering field to solve real life problems.
- PEO2 : To succeed in Employment or to persue higher studies in civil engineering discipline on in allied engineering discipline.
- PEO3 : To develop the attitude of Professionalism, ethical approach, communication skill and team work in their profession.
Programme Outcomes (PO)
1. Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.
2. Problem analysis: Identify and analyses well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.
3. Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
4. Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
5. Engineering practices for society, sustainability, and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment, and ethical practices.
6. Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.
7. Life-long learning: Ability to analyse individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.
